Valeriy Atrashchenkov topples Henrik Toth in Men’s Singles clash at European Club Championships
Ukraine’s talented shuttler Valeriy Atrashchenkov showed his remarkable skills and registered an impressive victory over Hungary’s Henrik Toth at the European Club Championships 2012 in Hungary, on Tuesday, May 29.
The in-form Valeriy found a perfect start in the tournament as he played to his full potential and thrashed his local opponent in a sensational fashion.
The Ukrainian was impressive in his game plan as he did not let his Hungarian opponent to dominate the pace at any stage and took the match in straight games while taking just 28 minutes in the court.
On the other hand, Henrik failed to live up to the expectations of his home fans and remained struggling in the court throughout the contest.
The local shuttler could not dictate the pace of rallies at any stage and easily lost to his rival with a one-sided score on the board.
In the first game of this interesting competition, both shuttlers started their run in an attacking manner but it was Valeriy who took over the control from his local rival and remained successful in taking a remarkable lead until the one-minute interval.
After the break, Henrik tried to show his skills by accelerating his speed but he failed to put up strong show and remained trailing on the board.
In the meanwhile, Valeriy continued his controlled play in the court and he did not face any tough resistance from his Hungarian opponent and wrapped up the set with an impressive 21-13 margin on the board.
In the following set, Valeriy showed even more urgency when he played to his maximum speed and easily established a tremendous lead in early points.
The Ukrainian was flawless in his play as he made not mistake in the court and easily took an impressive lead until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Valeriy remained positive and aggressive in all areas of the court and maintained pressure on his nervous opponent.
The Ukrainian progressed smoothly in the ending half of second set and won it with a one-sided score of 21-10.
Valeriy smashed his rival in this Men’s Singles contest with a striking 21-13 and 21-10 score on the board.
