The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Tom-Tomsk-c39228 head coach has blamed Lokomotiv Moscow’s striker after a disappointing Russian Premier League campaign
Lokomotiv Moscow had a poor Russian Premier League campaign, having failed to secure UEFA Champions League qualification this season. Worse still, the Railroaders pathetic league performances in the third league round have deprived them of securing UEFA Europa
League berth this season.
The Parovozy, who had been sitting at the 2nd spot in the league table before the start of the third league round, have failed to find consistency in their performances after finishing the season on the 7th spot.
Former FC Torpedo Moscow striker, Valeriy Petrakov, has blamed Lokomotiv strikers for the Red-greens poor run of form. However, he backed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Pavlyuchenko-c31639 to shine after returning to the Russian dugout from Tottenham Hotspur in January.
Pavlyuchenko joined the Moscow-based club after getting increasingly frustrated of his bench role at the White Hart Lane. The arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Louis-Saha-c22459 had further hastened his departure from the English outfit.
Petrakov has admitted that the 30-year-old striker needs to step up and rediscover his old form in order to help the Russian national team in Euro 2012. The Russian striker has scored just two goals in nine league appearances after making an emotional return
to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991.
The Railroaders forwards have struggled to score enough goals during the third league round, having contributed a total of five goals in 12 league appearances.
Lokomotiv forwards: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Victor-Obinna-c36080 and Aleksandr Minchenkov- all have failed to find the back of the net during the last round.
“Lokomotiv have fairly average strikers. They should not be compared with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Kuranyi-c20736.
“Pavlyuchenko have managed to increase Lokomotiv’s attack but he still needs time to rediscover his old form. He has done the right thing to switch from his old club.” The 53-year-old was quoted as saying."
Petrakov lamented the situation, conceding that the Moscow-based club looked helpless on the pitch offensively despite having renowned strikers at their disposal. The Russian tactician urged the strikers to perform better next season.
