Valery Karpin explains the reason behind his decision to end his managerial regime at Spartak Moscow
Spartak Moscow coach, Valery Karpin, has highlighted the reasons behind his failure with the Russian Club and admitted that some laggard team performances and shocking results at Luzhniki forced him to resign from the managerial position.
The 42-year-old revealed that he decided to terminate his contract with the Myaso after the humiliating defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 in the UEFA Europa Cup quarter-final. The gaffer admitted that he has already presented his resignation to the club management
and since then he is working as a care taker manager.
Karpin admitted that things didn’t turn out good enough under his managerial reign due to the frequent injury layoffs at the start of the Russian Championship. He insisted that the team failed to claim a descent spot due to the repeated injuries layoffs
in their squad.
The Russian national believes that injuries like muscle tear, ankle problems, broken bones and certain viral diseases sidelined senior members of the team in some important matches.
The former CSKA Moscow midfielder explained that he owes a lot to the Moscow-based club and revealed that he has been searching for the right candidate along with the stakeholders to fill the vacant managerial position.
However, Karpin remained tightlipped over names of the the possible candidates, revealing that the club president, Leonid Fedun, is considering a few possibilities at the moment.
“Since I resigned, the search has begun for a new coach. The stakeholder along with me discussed the candidates with the president of the club.” Karpin was quoted as saying.
The care taker manager, Karpin, has been given enough time to settle at the Moscow-based club but the 42-year-old failed to land any silverware for the Russian giants. Spartak Moscow have only recorded 10 wins from the 21 games that they have played in the
Russian Premier League.
Spartak Moscow are currently at the fifth spot on the Russian Premier League table and are exploring their options looking for a candidate who can fill the vacant managerial position.
