Karpin has urged Spartak Moscow to forget their pulsating 2-1 defeat against their arch rivals and has hailed Zenit St. Petersburg’s latest signings: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436 and Alex Witsel
Former CSKA Moscow midfielder, Valery Karpin, has told Spartak Moscow to forget about their latest Russian Premier League defeat against Lokomotiv Moscow at Stadion Lokomotiv (Moscow) on Sunday.
Though the Red-whites remained ahead after taking the lead inside the opening ten minutes of the match, they failed to retain the one-goal lead after conceding twice during the second-half.
The fact that the Myaso have failed to record a win from their previous three matches including their tough away trip to Turkey to play the UEFA Champions League play-off round return leg against Fenerbahce displeased Karpin, who
urged his side to alter the situation.
The Myaso, who have now progressed to the group stages of the European tournament, now faces an uphill struggle to move to later stages after being handed a difficult group in Europe. The Spartachi will face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Barcelona-c39078, Celtic
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SL-Benfica-c40542 in the group stages.
“We have completed the main task of the season by reaching the group stage of the Champions League. As for the Russian championship, everything is also not yet made up well. It would have been a flying start to the Russian championship
had we managed to win against Lokomotiv last week.”
“I appreciate our standings as normal. I believe in luck and hard work at the same time because last season we could have finished last but we finished second. So, you never know what’s going to happen next.” The Intertoto Cup
winner was quoted as saying.
The summer transfer window has seen Zenit St. Petersburg sign the likes of FC Porto’s Hulk and SL Benfica’s Alex Witsel for a cumulative fee believed to be in the region of 100 million Euros.
Karpin has hailed Zenit’s latest acquisitions, admitting that the arrival of aforementioned players will significantly improve the Russian championship on a large scale. He insisted that the defending champions have now increased
their wage bill by inviting these players to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991.
