Carlo Pallavicino had claimed that the Moscow-based club are interested in his client but the Russian tactician has ruled out the AC Milan goalkeeper's move.
Valery Karpin has denied pursuing AC Milan goalkeeper, Marco Amelia, rejecting the speculations that Spartak Moscow are keen to raise their defensive ranks by signing the Italian national.
The veteran goalkeeper, who recently signed a permanent deal with the Italian Giants, had reportedly expressed his desire to leave San Siro, days after penning a long term deal.
Having failed to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Abbiati-c9046, Amelia is reportedly looking for more first team action and eyeing a transfer in the January transfer window.
Consequently, the former Unione Sportiva Città di Palermo player requested his agent to find a suitable club for him.
Carlo Pallavicino, Amelia’s agent, had earlier revealed that Spartak were interested in the goalkeeper, adding that the Myaso are yet to make a firm proposal.
“I can confirm that Spartak are interested in my client. They made an inquiry regarding the possible transfer. Let's see what will happen in the next couple of weeks”. Pallavicino was quoted as saying.
Karpin, however, has now quashed the rumours linking the Red-whites with the 26-year-old, revealing that they have not talked to Amelia’s representative regarding a possible transfer.
“I don’t think we are interested. We do not have any negotiations with anybody. As for the words of his agent, then it is a lie.
“In football you can never say never but right now we are not considering the Italian. There are some fantastic Italian players out there. May be we will sign an Italian in the future.” The Russian Cup winner said.
Spartak have no reason to replace their first choice goalkeeper, Andriy Dykan, who is having a fabulous Russian Premier League campaign this term.
