Valiant looking for a hat-trick of victories by claiming Bahrain Trophy
Valiant will be chasing a hat-trick of victories, by winning the Bahrain Trophy (Group 3) at Newmarket in England on Thursday, July 12, 2012. The winner of the all important class-1 event will be awarded a cash prize of £31,191.
Stamina will be the key in the 1 mile 5 furlong race, which will start at 13:20 GMT, and a total of six runners will be fighting for victory. Although most of the participants are very young, yet they have performed brilliantly in their careers and anyone
could shine at Newmarket at the end of the day.
However, Valiant has been extremely strong at the start of his career and it will be difficult to stop him from fighting at the front. He has got an excellent speed and stamina, which will help him challenge his rivals in the race. He has been priced 9 to
4 by the bookies whereas a lot of punters will be risking money on him.
The good to soft track conditions will help the young colt deliver a decent result today, as he has done well in such conditions before as well. He has just participated in a couple of events, but the conditions were almost similar to what they are today
at Newmarket. His team will be hoping that things remain the same and no more rain comes down before the start of action.
The three-year-old runner first appeared onto the scene in May 2012 and he was given a starting price of 8 to 1 for his maiden race. He was up against some promising runner back then, but outperformed all of them with his excellent skills. He started the
proceedings well, but really pressed hard towards the final few yards, which helped him gain a lead of one length in the end.
This solid run helped the William Haggas’ trainee earn the confidence of the bookmakers and he was rated as the favourite in only his second race of the career. This time he started off slowly, but once again increased his pace towards the end, which earned
him a second consecutive victory.
A similar show is expected from Galileo’s son, who will be ridden by experienced jockey, Ryan Moore.
