Question:

Valid source that takes the stance that children's access to media should not be limited?

I'm writing a research paper addressing to what extent children's access to media should be limited, and I'm supposed to address both sides. Most articles I am finding always say how bad the media is for kids and that their access should be limited, and that's good, but I need at least a couple valid sources that address the opposite view, and I'm having trouble finding some.

  1. You're trying to find an expert who is going to say that kids aren't exposed to media enough? I doubt you'll find that -- the universal opinion seems to be that kids are overexposed to TV, radio, etc.

  2. Not hiding anything from children will keep them from growing up in a fantasy world where they think nothing bad happens. I wish my parents exposed me to more than they did. "Protecting" children from the media will give them a false sense of reality. At least, it did for me when I was younger.

Wish I could give you an exact source, other than my opinion.
