Valley View hoping for a strong run in Betfred Cumberland Handicap Chase
Valley View has got a pretty decent record in chase events and he will be looking forward to a strong run in the Betfred Cumberland Handicap Chase at Carlisle in England on Sunday, November 4, 2012. He will have to weather the storm from a couple of other
decent runners, but has the ability to cope up with the pressure.
Stamina will be the key in the 3 mile 2 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 15:10 GMT. Furthermore, there has been quite a lot of rain at Carlisle over the past few days, which has left the ground as soft. This means that some extra effort will
be required by the participants in order to claim a cash prize of £11,696.
The class-4 contest will definitely get the attention of the spectators, but the organisers will be hoping that rain stays away throughout the day. They might have to hold an inspection before the start of action today.
However, the conditions will not affect the chances of African Broadway, who has been rated as the favourite to succeed by the bookmakers. He is a pretty decent runner and likes this format. Therefore, the punters will be interested in risking a lot of bets
on him.
Overall, the six-year-old gelding has entered eight races in his career, winning four of them. This goes onto show that he has the ability to challenge for the top spot and it will not be a clever idea to take him lightly.
However, the David Pipe’s trainee has appeared in just one chase contest, which he managed to win comfortably. He will be hoping for a repeat of that show once more in order to make his team proud.
On the other hand, Valley View has got more experience of racing in this format and he will be confident of getting the attention of the bettors at the end of the day. It will be a clever idea to risk some money on him, as he has got a great chance of finishing
at the top of the table.
The Jonjo O'Neill’s trainee has raced in six chase events, winning three of them whereas finished as a runner up once. He will be partnered by veteran jockey, A. P. McCoy, who is a specialist in such races.
