Valmina to down a terrific victory in the Davisbakerycaribbean.com Handicap
Windsor will be hosting the Davisbakerycaribbean.com Handicap on 30th April, 2012, where sixteen runners will attempt to land the victory for a purse of £2,264 over a distance of 6 furlongs on a surface that has been labelled
soft.
Valmina, looks the strongest competitor among the rest of the field. The son of Val Royal, out of mare Minnina, started his career on 26th June 2009, and finished tenth in a line-up of twelve runners.
Over the course of his first season, he has shown progression. The 5-year-old gelding won the New Broom Cleaning Services Ltd Manchester Nursery at Wolverhampton on 13th November, 2009, where he defeated race favourite, Desert
Poppy, narrowly by ¾ of a length.
Out of four career victories, the gelding has landed one out of those 4 this season.
The bay gelding entered the Toyota World Bristol Handicap at Bath on 20th April, 2012, with a winning shot of 8 to 1, and he defeated, Dancing Welcome, by a marginal difference of a head.
This performance pleased his trainer, Tony Carroll and owner, Mayden Stud, as he finished ninth in the Football Free Bets With FreeBetting.co.uk Handicap at Wolverhampton on 17th March, 2012.
Jolly Ranch, trained by Tony Newcombe, may be a tough competitor to beat and may prove to be a thorn in the way of Valmina.
The daughter of Compton Place, out of mare How Do I Know, concluded her pevious season with an impressive victory.
Paired with jockey Fergus Sweeney, the six-year-old cruised through the track and landed an easy victory over, My Meteor, by 2 ½ lengths in the Best Odds @ oddschecker.com Handicap at Bath on 26th September, 2011.
The grey mare, who is owned by Joli Racing began this season in a less impressive manner, as she finished fifth in the Dormansland Handicap at Lingfield on 6th January, 2012. Mounted by Fergus Sweeney again, she missed the victory
by 5 lengths.
So far, it seems that Valmina will take this race, unless one of the other runners brings their hidden potential to the track, and it seems that Jolly Ranch might finish as a runner-up.
