Valtteri Bottas believes he is all set to become a race driver – Formula 1 news
Williams’ test driver, Valtteri Bottas believes that he is all set to become a full-time F1 driver and is positively looking forward to secure a race seat in the British team in 2013.
Toto Wolff, the executive director of Williams has recently said that they have not finalised their driver line-up for the coming year. Moreover, it has been reported that they are eying to replace their driver, Bruno Senna with Bottas after seeing his marvellous
performance in the Young Driver Test held at Silverstone circuit. Meanwhile, the Finn has shown full hope to race with the Grove based team in the coming year.
In addition, Bottas said that he is going to continue driving his team’s car in the free Friday practice of the forthcoming races excluding the races in Singapore and Austin. He also said that he is not certain about his future in the team. However, he insisted
that he will definitely avail the chance to participate in the next season as a full-time race driver.
“I will continue to take part in Friday practice sessions except in Singapore and Austin,” he told f1news.ru in an interview. “As for a contract for next year, I don't know - it's a fact. But this season has taught me a lot, and I really feel ready to start
now. If I was offered an opportunity to drive in Formula One, of course, I will take advantage of it. I think at some point you just have to go for it, regardless of whether you are 90 or 100 per cent ready for it.”
Besides, he said that he feels really happy with the British squad as he has developed a very good affiliation with everyone in the team.
It will be important to mention that Wolff has asserted that the Finnish driver has got some amazing skills and he surely deserves to be a race driver. Additionally, he said that he is very much sure that the 22-year-old will secure a race seat in the near
future.
