Valtteri Bottas prepared for race seat in Williams – Formula 1 news
Williams test driver Valtteri Bottas has said that he is prepared for a race seat in his team after delivering excellent performance in the Young Driver Test held at Silverstone Circuit.
Bottas set the fastest time on the final day of the test in Silverstone and remained successful in gathering some essential information about FW34 so as to make the necessary assessment of the updates.
Moreover, it will be important to mention that the British team has been looking forward to analyse the driving of the Finnish driver to give him the race seat for the next season.
Meanwhile, the 2011 GP3 champion has said that he is ready to take part in Formula 1 and is eagerly looking forward to race in the season ahead. In addition, he said that he is aiming to keep on improving his understanding about the sport and is very much
happy with his performance until now.
“I would like a race seat in F1, I think that is my next goal,” Bottas said. “I think next season I would be ready, or even now if someone asked me to race, for sure I would do it. I would feel happy to step in to car. But every time I am in car, I am learning
all time and getting better all the time. But for sure at some point you have to have your first race.”
Furthermore, he said that he misses racing as he has spent his whole life in it. He also said that his main objective is to secure a race seat in F1 and to keep on making the considerable improvements in the future.
“Our main goal is the race seat, but if we don't get that then I have to keep on driving,” he said.
Williams are presently standing at 7th place in the constructors’ championship with 47 points. Besides, they are ahead of Force India and behind their main rival, Sauber-Ferrari.
Above and beyond, it will be quite interesting to see how they perform in the German Grand Prix which is to be held at Hockenheimring on July 22.
