  1. there are a lot of myths and facts about vampires i believe that the whole holy water thing is a myth but i am not quite sure yet lol u should answer my question its rite below yours lol

  2. no onez born as a Vampire..u become a vampire once ur kissed..

  3. Ahh, this is a good question.

Water in itself is a blessed object, according to myth, because it is used as a cleansing agent in so many rituals across the world.  Also, adds to one of the myths of why vampires can't cross running water.

Now, holy water was to cause harm and force them back, however, if you loaded a super-soaker with it you could kill them (same with silver or mercury fyi).

Yet, being baptized was a way to purify the soul, and since the old mythic eastern europe vampires were seductors and seductresses the old legend went that they made an opening in the barrier in the blessing of your soul through lust so they could feast upon your body (noted in the 19th C. as a creation of the id).

The big catch was that they went after the body and not the soul, which is why vampires also don't have a reflection, since mirrors were once believed to reveal a person's soul (their true self) since the old mirrors were once made of silver (which was a purifying metal and thus deceit could never be revealed in them).

Also, keep in mind that the old eastern vampires had to tote the earth of their grave with them.  They were actually very very dirty fiends, not these suave vampires we know today, that's a Bramstoker invention.  These things were bloated, jaundiced, marked, and dirty.  So another myth i remember was that any form of cleansing (thus the water or salt myths) would hurt them and could kill them.

Other interesting cleansers that appear in the oldest myths:

    Pig fat, ash, Candelaria, Amethyst.

  4. Holy water just damaged the old vampires it never was responsible for their death.

  5. There are not , and never have been any vampires ( except bats ).  Holy water is exactly the same as unholy water .

  6. Remember, holy water is just water. There is no reason why we would be hurt by it. We can drink from whoever we'd please, baptized or not.

  7. for the same reason that a blessed knife dosent kill them and why they can go in a church just bec something is holy or blessed dosent mean that a vampire is hurt by it and i cant say whay holy water hurts them.
