Bayern Munich duo has expressed their pleasure on the performances so far and hopes to reclaim the Bundesliga title from Borussia Dortmund.
Bayern go into the winter break being on top of the Bundesliga standings table. The side has collected 37 points from the 17 games played and have a sufficient three point lead over rivals Borussia Dortmund with one half of the
season still to go.
The Bavarian giants still have to play VfL Bochum in the German Cup before the winter break starts. They will take on the 2.Bundesliga side in an away fixture to progress to the quarter-final stage.
Van Buyten expressed his satisfaction on the impressive first half of the season and admitted that Bayern has a very good chance of winning the Bundesliga title. He claimed that there is still six months to play for the title and
the team has to be consistent in their displays as competition from Borussia Dortmund and Schalke is tough.

“We've achieved everything we set out to achieve. Of course [the winter championship] isn't a proper title, but we're still proud. Now we can enjoy the break. It's not what you'd call an easy draw. They have real quality,” the
defender was quoted as saying in an interview.
Meanwhile, Bayern’s Sporting Director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is delighted that the team has made a strong statement this season after a disappointing campaign previously. He remained hopeful for progress in Europe and also wants
to win on the German Cup so that the team remain in all competitions at the end of this year.
“We've managed to calm things down a bit after the turbulence of last season. We'd do better to take things step by step in the Champions League, even if we are the undoubted favourites for this particular tie. Of course we want
to win,” he concluded.
