Tottenham Hotspur’s midfielder, Rafael Van Der Vaart has gone on to confirm that he will be staying at the White Hart Lane, even if they fail to make it into the Champions League.
For the most part, Tottenham were sitting in the third spot in the Premier League table. At one point, the team looked like it would be able to compete with Manchester United and Manchester City for the Premier League title as well.
However, a sudden dip in form now sees them sitting in the fifth spot, with European qualification no longer being a sure shot.
Many believe that the start players at the team, including the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 and Rafael Van Der Vaart could end up leaving the club, should the team fail to secure a European spot.
Van Der Vaart has gone on to dismiss these rumour and insisted that he will be staying at the club, irrelevant to what happens in the future.
The Dutch international, when talking about his future is quoted to have said: “Even if we don't manage to get into the Champions League that is no reason for me to leave.”
“Any young player wants to play for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, Manchester United or Real Madrid. But that is something I've done, and I am now happy at Spurs."
The former Real Madrid man also revealed he came close to walking off the pitch during their game with Stoke, which they lost.”
"During our game at Stoke I really thought I was going to walk off after 25 minutes," he admitted.”
"They did nothing but batter us, tackle and hit long balls. It is totally not my style, although they got a result with it."
Van Der Vaart has been one of the best players at the club this season and his presence has helped the team out tremendously.
With him now nearing his thirties, the player needs to realize that if an opportunity to move to a team like United does present itself, he should opt to make the move, in order to end his career on a high and with titles.
