Tottenham Hotspur’s midfielder, Rafael Van der Vaart has gone on to admit that he will end up returning to the Dutch Eredivisie one day.
The Dutch international still has two years left to go on his current deal with the North London club, but many believe the midfielder could opt to leave the team at the end of the current season.
Van der Vaart made the move to Tottenham from Real Madrid in 2010, when he was signed on the last day of the transfer window.
However, the Dutch international has already gone on to admit that he would like to return to Netherlands before he calls it quits on his career as a footballer.
When talking about his future ambitions and just why he needs to return to Holland, the talented midfielder is quoted to have said: "I see it as an obligation to play football once again in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753"
"I have a feeling I have to give something back to the Eredivisie, for what it has meant to me."
Van der Vaart has adjusted to life in the Premier League rather well and in the fifty six appearances that he made for the team, he has managed to score twenty two goals, which is rather impressive for any midfielder.
Despite his commitment to Tottenham, the midfielder could opt to leave the club at the end of the current season, should they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
At the moment, Manchester United are being linked with the player, as the team are in desperate need to add some experience and talent to their squad.
Tottenham are going to be more than reluctant to let go of the midfielder, but given the fact that the Dutch international is nearly in his thirties and that he only has two years left on his current contract, they could be tempted to letting him leave the
team.
Nonetheless, despite the interest from United, it is going to be up to Van Der Vaart to decide whether he wants to leave the team or not.
It is now going to be a wait to see just what the Dutchman decides to do with his footballing career.
