Van Gogh help? Suggestions?

My task is to create my own version of 'Starry Night' (http://www.scu.k12.ca.us/pomeroy/3rd/starry-night.jpg). I can select colours other than Van Gogh's if I like, but I must use his painting techniques. I have a few colours in mind, but am unsure. So any suggestions of the colours for the sky or objects in the painting would be appreciated. Please tell me why you would select those colours. Thanks.

Stormy night? add lightning! add dark clouds!

Snowy Night? :) just add white snow in the same style

but keep blue/yellow in your palette bc he uses them often.
