Arsenal’s captain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 has admitted that he is proud to be a Gunner and believes that the way his side played against AC Milan in the second leg, proved just what the team was capable of doing.
The North London club took on Milan in the second leg of their Champions League tie, following a four goals to nil defeat in the first leg.
Going into the game, everyone expected the Italians to extend their lead even further, as they put the Gunners to rest.
However, ever since the referee blew his whistle to indicate the start of the game, the North London club went into overkill and took the game to their opponents.
Following a brilliant display of attacking football, the Premier League side went on to win the game by three goals to nil.
Despite the win, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 were still knocked out of the tournament, since the Italians won the tie by four goals to three.
Even though his team lost the game, Van Persie has admitted that he has never felt prouder to be a Gunner, then he did in the game against Milan.
When talking about his feelings and just how the team played, the Dutch international is quoted to have said: “I'm very proud to be a gunner tonight we gave everything we had! The fans were incredible best atmosphere I ever experienced thanks so much!”
Van Persie has still not put pen to paper on a contract extension at the Emirates, but the fact that he is speaking in such a positive manner about the club just goes to show that he might end up sticking around until he retires.
The striker has scored twenty five goals in the Premier League so far and he is bound to add to that number before the season comes to an end. His form has been attracting attention from all over the world, with Europe’s top clubs looking to make a move
for the forward.
Nonetheless, it is going to be a wait till the end of the season to see just what the striker decides to do.
