Van der Vaart has 100 caps for his country and over thousands of Hamburg supporters greeted him on his first practice session on Sunday. He admitted that he was enjoying the special treatment by the fans but conceded that he has
a lot on his plate, and will have to perform well in order to deserve the applauds.
The Dutch star stated that his team includes lots of quality footballers and wants to create a positive impact on his team-mates so that they are confident during the matches.
"I like the hype about me, now we can start really. I am here to take responsibility. We have many players who can play football really well. I hope that my return will create a little confidence," he was quoted as saying in an
interview.
"Rafael brings us positive energy. Our game will be much more creative with him. And some of the players will grow accordingly," Fink stated.
"I believe that Rafael can help decisively, his transfer to Hamburg will create a spirit of optimism. They shouldn't make the mistake in Hamburg of putting all their focus on Van der Vaart.," Low added.
Van der Vaart will have to be patient in his return to Hamburg team because of the two week international break and will make his debut against Eintracht Frankfurt on September 16.
