Tottenham Hotspur striker, Rafael van der Vaart is hopeful that Spurs will hire the on-loan http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 on permanent basis.
The 28 year old came to Tottenham from Manchester City for a season long loan and came up with a match winning performance against Swansea City on Sunday, by scoring late two goals to secure three points for his side. The Togo goal scoring machine also spent
a year on loan at Real Madrid before being assigned the duty at White Hart Lane.
So far, he has featured in 30 matches for the London side and has managed to score 14 goals and picked up 11 assists.
His inspirational performance against the Swans won the praise of the Dutch international, who thinks that it is imperative for the Spurs to hire him on a permanent contract.
While talking to reporters, he said “He is a great player for us, works his socks off and we love him here. He played for Real Madrid, Arsenal and City and I was surprised he came but I hope he stays.”
Tottenham have enjoyed a successful current season with the Londoner’s placed fourth in the Premier League table and are bidding for a Champions League spot next season.
 However, the North London side might find it difficult to afford the striker, who is currently getting 170,000 pounds per week, with Spurs paying 65,000 pounds of the total amount and the rest being taken care of by Manchester City.
Van der Vaart mentioned that he had developed a good understanding with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Crouch-c29741 in the previous season, but believed that Adebayor is even better than the towering English striker. Crouch later left Spurs for Stoke City.
 "Last season I had a good understanding with Peter Crouch, but with him it's even better. He's tall and strong.”
 The 29 year old midfielder admitted that financial constraints will pose problems for the Spurs in keeping the player and revealed that he has been trying to convince him to stay at the club.
 "I think the problem is the wages. Yes, I have tried to persuade him to stay.”
 Spurs beat Swansea 3-1 on Saturday and are now tied with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314. The Dutch pointed out that his side had been low on confidence but got the match needed win against
the Welsh side.

“It is a big battle, Chelsea, also keep winning so it will be interesting. Maybe it is better to be a little bit behind and then in the end be in the top three.”
