Paris Saint-Germain’s latest acquisition faces a fight to dislodge Christophe Jallet from the team, but is not worried by that
The Dutch international signed for the Parisiens earlier this month, after putting pen to a paper on a four-year deal with the Ligue 1 outfit.

While talking to reports after being presented to the media as a PSG player, the 24-year-old vowed to fight for his place in the team.
The full-back stated that he is not much worried about the situation and is relishing the challenge of cementing down a place in the starting line-up.
"That is absolutely not a problem for me," he said.
Van der Wiel added that he believes in his abilities and is confident of getting enough chances at PSG to prove his worth.
The Dutch international said that it’s a new situation for him but he has no fears regarding that and is looking forward to play in France for the first time in his career.
"I am conscious of my own qualities and so I have no fear of having to fight for my place.”
Talking about his teammate, Christophe Jallet, the Dutchman said that he is happy for the club captain, who scored a goal for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belarus-c2849 in midweek.
“I hope Christophe plays well. He scored for France in midweek and I am happy for him because he is now my teammate.”
Van der Wiel added that he wants to cement a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting eleven and his main aim is become the first-choice right-back at the club. And the Dutchman feels that the competition for places will help him become a better player.
“Of course, I want to be the number one, but the competition is positive and will help me become a better player."
Paris Saint-Germain are set to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toulouse-FC-c40751 at Parc des Princes, but Van der Wiel is expected to miss the match because of a groin injury.
