  1. I was born in Vancouver and I'd have to say that my favorite places to see are:  China Town (I believe it's the second largest in North America....San Fransisco is the largest).   Grouse Mountain is very nice as well....take the gondola up to the top. On a clear day, you will have a great view of the city.  Stanley Park/Sea Wall is fantastic too.   English Bay is great in the summer.  Robson Street is full of stores and Restaurants and at night the street performers come out....especially in the summer!  Granville Island is great too....lots of restaurants, farmers markets and stores.  There are water taxis that you can take across the inlet.  Capilano Suspension Bridge is fantastic......go across and hike around the paths. It's beautiful!

  2. Get a daypass for transit  $ 8.00  Ride trhe sky train to Metrotown Mall  ( 500 shops)    pacific center mall ( its under ground)  Seabus to North Vancouver  Lonsdaie market Bus to Grouse mountain We locals go to Lynn canyon suspension bridge Its free Wear old shoes . See Park & tilford gardens allso free  Ride the little granville island ferries science world  . Take the bus to horse shoe bay then go for a ferry ride to Bowen Island/ See hellobc  and tourismvancouver

  3. When I visited Vancouver, I really enjoyed the Gaslamp District (stores and restaurants). Stanley Park is HUGE with beautiful gardens, rugby games, a lake, places to relax and play, and I believe there is a neat restaurant there, too.

I also loved walking around the downtown area. It's a great city to walk in. You feel safe and there are lots of great shops for buying or window shopping.

If you like baseball (even just a little bit), go to a game at Nat Bailey Stadium. You'll see the Canadians play who are the single-A affiliate of the Oakland A's.

I had some of the most fun I've ever had anywhere with great people, fun minor-league baseball events, and a good baseball team.

Have fun in Vancouver, it's a beautiful and fun city!

  4. So far, Stanley Park has been mentioned(that's free). Get fish and chips while there.  You should also go to Queen Elizabeth Park (that's free), Van Duesen Gardens (you pay).  The other person was talking about Gastown, not Gaslamp; it's not as great as it used to be. If you like shopping, Pacific Centre, Robson Street, Granville Island is so much fun!  Go for gelato while there, also you can find some great things there you won't see elsewhere.  Go to the bead shop, the kitchenware store, the bookstore.  The local artisans have shops ie weaving and pottery.

If you love pasta, go to Anton's (sorry, can't remember the street it's on; check the phone book) Get there early or you will have to wait in line, but the portions are HUGE.  Get chocolate at Brussels chocolates.

can't think of anything else, but there is lots. enjoy your trip.
