Vancouver Canucks defeat the Nashville Predators 3-1 – NHL Recap

The National Hockey League leaders, the Vancouver Canucks were in action, as they beat the Nashville Predators 3-1 at the HSBC Arena. Both teams are in the play-off cut, but the Predators needed the win as they are only two points ahead of the eighth placed
Anaheim Ducks.
The game started off with both teams making a few shots on goal at the start of the game, but they were unable to score a goal and the period ended level on 0-0. The Predators were not as dominating in the offence, but still they managed to score the lone
goal of the period to get into the lead. The Canucks dominated the final period with some strong plays which saw them scoring a goal early to level the scores. The Canucks scored two more goals as the period neared its end to win the game 3-1 in the end. Alexandre
Burrows was the Star of the Game, as he scored twice during the contest.
Both teams made a decent start to the game and it was the Canucks who were the better of the two teams on the attacks. They had plenty of scoring chances early on, but they were unable to capitalise. The Predators got better with the passage of time and
piled a few shots on goal.
The problem remained the same for the Predators as well as they too were unable to score. The period saw both teams becoming very strong at the end of the period, but no goals were scored as the score was level on 0-0. The Canucks made seven shots on goal
while the Predators made 10 attempts.
The second period of the game started off with the Canucks quick out of the blocks once again and making shots on goal. The Predators also became strong with the passage of time and scored in the 15th minute through Mike Fisher to get into the
lead.
There were a couple of more shots on goal, but none of them found the back of the net as the period ended with the Predators leading 1-0. During the period, the Predators made five shots on goal while the Canucks made 11.
The final 20 minutes of play saw the Canucks totally dominating as they scored in the second minute through Alexandre Burrows to level the score. The period saw both teams continuing to attack, but it was the Canucks who scored once again in the 18th
minute through Burrows to get into the lead.
The Canucks scored once again in the final minute to double the lead. The goal was scored by Aaron Rome to seal the game. The game ended with the Canucks winning 3-1, as the Canucks made 14 shots on goal while the Predators made just two attempts.
