Vancouver Canucks miss Daniel Sedin for Tuesday practice, comeback rescheduled? –NHL Update
Less than a go for Vancouver Canucks before their playoff quarterfinal opening game against Los Angeles Kings and Daniel Sedin was not seen participating in the team’s practice on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, which definitely raises a question mark about his
debut.
Being one of their best players and leading scorer, the Vancouver team certainly needs his presence on the line-up heading into a matchup going against Los Angeles, a team which is pretty healthy and ready to fight.
If Daniel Sedin is not to play on Wednesday night, Vancouver Canucks will be most likely to replace him with Mason Raymond, but obviously, it would not be the same for them at all.
Vancouver head coach, Alain Vigneault, termed to be a special case and one which they could officially rule out or confirm but that they would have to take special care when dealing with Daniel Sedin’s injury.
"It's not a setback," Vigneault said two times to stress the importance. "It's a unique injury and he will continue the protocol and when he's ready to play he'll address you. Until then he won't talk to you."
Sedin was injured back in March in a matchup against Chicago Blackhawks as Duncan Keith forced an elbow to the head, resulting in a concussion and Keith being awarded a five-game suspension or his hit.
He was forced to miss the final nine games remaining on the Vancouver Canucks 2011-2012 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season schedule and finally made a comeback to practice on Monday. Not coming back the following day to practice gave birth to a
number of rumours about whether he can still play or needs more time off.
While Sedin looked and felt good to go during the Monday practice session, Alain Vigneault is not giving any hints on whether fans could expect him to play at the Rogers Arena on Wednesday, keeping it hidden from Los Angeles till the final moment.
"You should know by know I don't discuss line-up decisions," Vigneault said.
Sedin was also cleared for contact earlier last week, meaning that he is ready to go and should be expected to play on Wednesday against Los Angeles.
