Vancouver Canucks’ opponents finally revealed – San Jose Sharks to face the Canadian franchise

San Jose Sharks finally defeated Detroit Red Wings in the seventh game of the series to clinch the second spot in Eastern Conference Finals.
Sharks will be up against Vancouver Canucks which has waited for quite some time to learn who it will face.
“You're kind of in no man's land a little bit there", Canucks’ goaltender, Roberto Luongo, said. "We can all get ready and start studying a little bit. We know what we need to do to beat these guys. It's an exciting time right now to be playing hockey".
Canucks has been very dominating against Sharks if we talk about the regular season.
During the 2010-11 regular season, Canucks won three out of the four games between the two teams and three out of the two wins were at the HP Pavilion Center, home of the Sharks.
Canucks finished 12 points ahead of Sharks in the West when the regular season came to an end.
Even though both these teams are said to be very strong teams in the West but this is the first time that the two teams are up against each other.
Canucks has spent a lot more time in the National Hockey League and has made it into the Finals on two occasions, in 1982 and 1994.
On the other hand, Sharks has also made it into the Finals twice but it has lost both times.
Last season it was successful in making its way into the Finals but lost to Chicago Blackhawks who went on to win the Stanley Cup.
Canucks had to wait for a long time as the last time it made it this far, it went all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals.
However, the journey ended for them when the New York Rangers won the series and lifted the Stanley Cup after seven games.
Sharks has never made it into the Stanley Cup Finals even though it has been in the Conference Finals on two occasions.
It lost to Calgary Flames in 1994 and last year to Chicago Blackhawks.
Experts say that if we talk about a team being stronger on offence, then it is most definitely going to be Sharks who show a smooth transition from defence to attack.
Both the teams have had their share of success as they have been involved in series that went to seven games after they had been leading 3-0.
Canucks was in this position against Hawks while Sharks against Detroit Red Wings.
The series is going to be very exciting as Sharks look to make its way into the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time while Bruins look to do the same an end a 20 year drought of not making it into the Finals.
