Vancouver Canucks plays host to Minnesota Wild in the fifth eeting between the two sides this season
The final game of Monday will be played at the Xcel Energy Center as Minnesota Wild plays host to the league leaders, Vancouver Canucks.
This will be the fifth out of the six scheduled between the two sides during the course of the season.
Out of the four games that have already taken place between the two teams, both teams have won two games each.
The most recent game between the two sides saw Canucks dominating the game with Jannik Hansen scoring the winning goal which saw Canucks emerging as 4-1 winners of the game.
Canucks have been in the top spot in the league for most of the season and from the looks of it they would finish on the same position. They had an inconsistent run recently which saw them coming up with alternate wins and losses.
However, their most recent five-game road trip saw them winning all the five games.
Wild, on the other hand, have been seeing a downfall in their performances and they are currently on a four-game road trip.
They have played two games already and they have lost both. The disappointing thing in that they have lost both the games which have seen them allowing four goals in the each of the games and not scoring a single goal.
They lost both team game against Nashville Predators and Dallas Stars. Things are going to get tougher for them as they square off against Canucks and then the in-form San Jose Sharks.
Wild will be facing quite a few problems as they have a four games home stand coming up if they don’t come up with good results in the last two road trip games.
"No sugar-coating, it's tough," Cullen said. "This is going to be a good test for our team. We have to respond. We can't sit here and complain and whine. It's two tough games."
Wild have played 69 games so far in the season out of which they have won 35 games in regulation time and seven games in overtime to score a total of 77 points.
Canucks have played 70 games during the season out of which they have won 45 games in regulation time and nine game in overtime to score a total of 99 points.
Canucks had been in great form and they all of their five game against the teams which were in their own Western Conference. It has not only given them breathing space but also score some important points to cement their position and show how dangerous they
are as the playoffs are just around the corner.
"Before the trip, we were struggling putting pucks in the net, so it was nice to be able to score a few goals," forward Daniel Sedin said.
