Vancouver Canucks to make difference in Game 4 against Boston Bruins –NHL Stanley Cup Finals Preview
The National Hockey League’s (NHL) leading team during the regular season, Vancouver Canucks, is all ready to make a difference in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals series against the Eastern Conference champions, Boston Bruins, on Wednesday, June 8th,
after an embarrassing 8-1 loss earlier in Game 3.
Roberto Luongo might have ended up in the same position he was in back in the quarterfinals where he was having a tough time finding his game.
Luongo made a statement in the first two games of the 2011 NHL Stanley Cup Finals but after a blowout loss, people have began speculating regarding his ability to continue in the series.
"We need to be better", said Daniel Sedin, who leads his team in goals. "I think obviously having a good PK. It's more us, what we do out there. We're not moving the puck good enough, the passes aren't really on the stick. We're at our best when we're unpredictable.
Right now we're predictable".
Game 4 will be immensely crucial for both teams since both have everything at stake.
Boston will look to level up the series and head back to Vancouver on a fresh slate while Canucks would love to end up at home after putting Bruins on the verge of elimination to celebrate the Cup at home.
After the way Boston played in Game 3, expectations have been totally changed as to how Bruins was viewed before entering the Stanley Cup Finals after 21 years of struggling.
It was nearly blown out against Tampa Bay Lightning during the Eastern Conference Finals but made a miraculous comeback in Game 7 to win the divisional title.
Aaron Rome’s hit on Boston Bruins’ forward, Nathan Horton, turned out to be a bad decision as both have been ousted from the historic series which a player is always hopeful to make at some point in his career.
Rome tackled Horton face first in the opening minutes of Game 3 which resulted in Horton being taken out on a stretcher. Horton was declared unfit to continue for the remainder of the series and Rome was suspended for the remaining four games.
"There's no fun to this", said Mike Murphy, the NHL in-charge of dealing with discipline for the finals. "There's no enjoyment to this. Nobody wins in this. Everybody loses. The fans lose. We lost two good hockey players”.
Alex Burrows is the only player in the Canucks’ team with more than a single goal in this series so far and has led them through some very difficult times against Bruins.
Mark Recchi has been overall spectacular for Bruins as he leads among both teams with three goals in the past three games and will be a go-to man for Boston.
The highly anticipated Game 4 will be a decisive game for both teams to show whether Canucks has learned from its mistakes or Bruins has finally found its game.
It is expected to start on Wednesday at 8:00 PM ET, at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
