Vancouver Canucks wins 4-1 against Columbus Blue Jackets 
The second last game was played at the Nationwide Arena as the league leaders won 4-1 against Columbus Blue Jackets this Sunday.
The game was more important for Blue Jackets as they looked to win the game while Canucks was looking to extend its lead ahead of the other teams to win.
Canucks were on the attack right from the start and managed to score the lone goal of the period to get into the lead.
The second 20 minutes of play saw the Canucks coming up with some shots on goal but the Blue Jackets were able to come up with a couple a shots.
However, there no goals in the second period but the final period saw the Canucks scoring thrice while the Blue Jackets scored a goal too. In the end, the Canucks won the game 4-1 in the end.
Cory Schneider, goal keeper of Canucks, was named the star of the game as he made 39 saves during the course of the game.
Canucks managed to make their first shot on target after they constructed the first play in the game.
There were several chances for the team to score a goal but it was not until the eighth minute that the Canucks scored to get into the lead.
The goal was scored by Christian Ehrhoff from a well placed flick shot. The game continued with the Canucks firing shots but the Blue Jackets gained a lot of confidence with the passage of time and fired a couple of shots on target. The period didn’t see
any further goals and ended with the Canucks leading 1-0.
During the course of the period, the Canucks made seven shots on goal while the Blue Jackets made 13 shots on goal.
The second period began with the Canucks making a couple of shots on goal early on. However, the momentum shifted and it was the Blue Jackets who, with the backing of the crowd created scoring chances for themselves every now and then.
It looked as if the home team would certainly score but this didn’t happen and the period ended with the neither of the teams scoring. The Canucks still led by a single goal with the Blue Jackets making 12 shots on goal while the Canucks made just five shots
on goal.
The final period began with the Canucks on target as they scored in the fourth minute during power play through Henrik Sedin to double their advantage.
The league leaders kept on piling the pressure and scored once again in the 10th minute through Chris Higgins to further extend their lead. The Blue Jackets scored through RJ Umberger in the very next minute but the Blue Jackets sealed the game
with Higgins scoring once again in the 18th minute.
In the end, the Canucks won the game 4-1 and earned them their 50th win during the course of the season.
