Vancouver High Speed Internet, Oxymoron?

Question

Does anybody else get really slow internet? What's going on? It seems to be around the dial up range, I would like it to be 50 or 100mbps to be on the leading edge with the rest of the developed world. What can we do?

I'm in North Vancouver, and I got shaw. My laptop is really far away from the router so my signal isn't always too good, But slow internet is not a problem. I used to have slow everything but i got me 1gb more ram and now its quick as lightning.
