Vancouver or Rome?

Question

Would it be better to go to a local University in Vancouver or to go to an American University in Rome? I live in the US and my father wants me to study in Vancouver. He says Canada is a "serious country." I want to study in Rome but I'm starting to get doubts. Which one would you recommend?

I've heard amazing things about studying in Rome.  Do it.  Get some real pizza.

The state department lists Rome is the 2nd most expensive city in the entire world right now (exceed only by Venice). Your lucky to get a hotel room in a 200 year old 2nd story walk-up for less than $200 a night. Students don't normally get that kind of choice.

Wow... tough decision there. I'm also American.... I'd probably wind up picking Vancouver in the end. Canada is an awesome country (not that Italy isn't). Rome would be EXTREMELY expensive though, and unless you speak Italian really, it'd get old having to communicate in a language you're not comfortable with.

I think Rome would be more of an experience.  A country is only as serious as you make it out to be; you can be serious in Rome.  It's a beautiful city with a beautiful history and you are so close to all of the other countries in Europe that you can visit.  To me, studying abroad is a once in a lifetime experience.

Are you kidding me?  Rome, of course!  Your dad just worries about you and wants you near...not a bad thing, but if the choice is yours-go Italian!

You're gonna have to weigh it up, make sure you understand WHY he thinks what he thinks, and be honest with self

always be honest with self.

(((((If you get stuck for a decision? let the deciding factor be your gut sense. If you get closer to there and finsd a growing sense of DREAD in you about Vancouver(and while thouights of Rome fill you with intrigue and excitement...then follow your heart!
