  1. I doubt that vanilla sugar has anywhere near the concentration of vanilla that's in a pure extract... but you could substitute it for about 1-2 tsp. of the sugar called for in the recipe

  2. of course but they both smell delicious lmao.

  3. it shouldnt make any difference, just use both. if it doesnt work then you know not to do it next time.

    good luck.

  4. Vanilla sugar is made by placing the vanilla bean in sugar and allowing the flavor of the bean to permeate the sugar.

Vanilla is not a necessary ingredient in cheese cake, it just flavors the thing.

If this is a scratch recipe for cheesecake, just use that amount of vanilla sugar as sugar called for in the recipe. If not, your cheesecake will be too sweet if you add more sugar to it.

  5. I've done a lot of cooking with vanilla sugar in Germany, since I couldn't find liquid vanilla.  For 1/2 tsp., you should probably use 1/4 cup of vanilla sugar (or so).  I've always found that you can add more vanilla to recipes than called for, so you could even substitute vanilla sugar for all the regular sugar, and it would still turn out all right.

    Good luck!

  6. I would not worry about the vanilla in the recipe if you are using vanilla sugar.  I would just us vanilla sugar as a replacement for the sugar in the recipe.  For instance if the recipe calls for 1/2 tsp of vanilla and

    1 1/2  C. sugar, just use 1 1/2 C. Vanilla Sugar, make sense?
