Celta Vigo’s dismal record on the road continues as they have again failed to come away with even a point despite one time leading the match against Rayo Vallecano by two goals
Celta played much of the game with just ten men after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gustavo-Cabral-c15413 was sent off. However they were up two goals and could not hold on to their lead as they finally lost the game 3-2.
Goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javi-Varas-c18024, is insisting the referee cannot be blamed for their loss; instead it’s the Celta players who have take responsibility for the defeat.
Varas is aware of the impact the dismissal of their player had on the game, but believes that they should not blame the loss on just the referee.
“Cabral’s dismissal affected us and we had to make some changes but we can’t just blame the defeat on that.”
The goalkeeper continued and stated the number of mistakes his team made and added that they need to be dealt with.
“We made some really bad mistakes and that’s something that needs to be corrected.”
The 30-year-old has also spoken on the fact that he doesn’t like pointing fingers at the referees. He believes his team’s faith is in its own hands.
“I don’t like to use the officials as an excuse because it’s down to us.”
The shot-stopper also commented on the lack of experienced players in the squad. Majority of Celta’s players are new to Primera Division. Regardless, Varas believes that should not be an excuse for throwing away a two-goal advantage.
“Lack of experience is no excuse.”
Meanwhile, the on-loan keeper from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sevilla-FC-c40484 has also shared his thoughts on the defensive problems his team is facing. He said the team needs to tighten up the back line as they have no problem scoring goals.
“This team has the potential to score goals but we need to be stronger defensively, which so far we have not been.”
“Obviously it’s easier if we can win by playing good football, but we’ve received a lot of compliments without getting the points.”
Celta Vigo have lost 100% of their away games so far this season. They need to improve on this statistic if they want to climb their way to the safety zone.
