  1. my H.S. only had varsity.  There might be requirements to meet (i.e- being able to shoot below a certain number) but I can't say for sure, cause schools are different.  If you can afford it (cause they can be expensive) get some lessons, especially for the short game.  Or a subscription to Golf Digest or Golf Magazine.  Practice as much as possible over the summer.

even if you don't make it this year, DON'T GIVE UP!!  Even Michael Jordan got cut from his H.S. basketball team.

  2. it depends how good your high school is at golf...theyre standards will be set high if they've won districts or something...and varsity is usually better than junior varsity...

  3. the way my school set it up, we did have a jv team but they didn't really play any matches and it was just the extra players, that made the cut but not varsity.

on varsity there's 4-5 players ranked best to worst (on historic scorings) and you play against the same ranked players from other schools. You never know how good other kids from your school could be at golf, and you could be better than a lot of hopefuls there.

and by 'professional experience' do you mean actually competing in amateur tournaments or having lessons? i didn't, i only played with my dad for like 6 months, and i got number 4 on varsity. so...try it out!

  4. If you wait you will never do it.  Go and and show that you are willing to work.  Putt well and have a great attitude.  Most HS students have horrible course management and a mental game that hurts them most of the time.

Hit the ball in the fairway and you'll be ok

  5. loook it up on google

  6. I would say you should wait a year and get to know the game first. Golf is a very hard sport to just start and become good at it over night. Take some lessons during the winter. If you've ever heard of Golf Tech then try signing up there for lessons. They offer great feed back and it's all recorded on video so you can see your lessons online. But tryout anyway. If you don't make it then you know what you'll have to do for next year. Good luck.

  7. just try it out and if u dont make it then theres always next year but for me i started about 5 mounths before tryouts and made varsity cause our school doesnt have a jv but idk bout your school

    good luck
