My husband wants to have a vasectomy after our baby is born, as we are done having children. We will have two kids. Does anyone know if there are any age restrictions, medical restrictions of number of children restrictions in order to have a vasectomy in Canada, namely, Ontario? He is 28.

  1. Your doctor may want to consult with both of you before doing the operation.   Other than that, the only problem you may run into is the doctor's personal views.

Some doctors feel that vasectomies/tubal ligations/etc should not be done until a certain age.  If that is your doctor's view, go to another doctor.

  2. There are none at all in the USA, and there never have been in all 50 states.  I had one at 21, with no children at all.  I don't see that being any different in Canada.
