Vasily vying to win Toyo Tires Performance Stakes (Handicap)
The Robert Eddery trained bay colt, Vasily, is looking to notch up top spot in the Toyo Tires Performance Stakes (Handicap) that will be held at Goodwood racecourse on Saturday, August 4. The Class 2 race over 1 mile and 6 furlongs is scheduled to begin
at 2:40 (GMT).
In the £24,900 event, the four-year-old novice runner will face 13 worthy rivals on the good track. He has some good experience in such sort of race conditions.
Vasily started his 7-race career in September 2011. After a couple of mediocre performances, he nicely managed to break his maiden in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes, held at Brighton on October 13. Despite being
a non-favourite runner, he delivered an outstanding performance to thrive.
Following this tremendous triumph, the talented son of Sadler’s Wells out of Red Bloom finished 9th in the 18-runner race of the Constant Security Stakes (Handicap) at York on May 16.
The Cheveley Park Stud Ltd bred horse accomplished another glaring victory in Cheveley Park Stud Ltd at Windsor on May 28. He moved on to finish first again in his last outing at the same venue on June 30.
These impressive stats show that Vasily owns a lot of talent that he will apply to make a big mark in today’s mega marathon.
However, he will have to face enough resistance from A Boy Names Suzi who has finished on the podium in 11 of his total 13 starts so far. What a marvellous record!
The James Eustace trained veteran horse performed very well, though not won, in each of his last three races. On June 2, he nicely notched up the runner-up rank in the Investec Zebra Handicap at Epsom. He finished 3rd in the Betfred Mobile Sports
Handicap at Windsor on June 30.
The talented son of Medecis out of Classic Coral again finished second in the 14-runner contest of Caravan Chairman's Charity Cup (Handicap), took place at York on July 13.
In the light of this analysis, it is concluded that Vasily and A Boy Names Suzi will fight neck-to-neck for the title. Let us see who carries the day.
