Vass's 47, what do you think?

Do you think that Vass's 47 as a night-watchman is evidence of his batting skills? He has always been good with the bat. And he seemed to have shown that he can be pretty good up the order as well.

That's great for a night-watchman but that doesn't make him a one down batsman. Kumble or Harbhajan may hit a century but can you imagine them opening the innings?

Yep well done to vaas. I was really proud of that effort, he stuck out there, it would have been terribly hard. So well done to him.

Looks like we have a few batsmen. Prasad was quite good, i think if he worked a little on his batting he would be really good, P.Jayawardene finally got going, got out on 49 for a lousy shot, but he did well. Sangakarra was a bit upset that he didn't get further, detirmination of that man is inspiring. Over all i think this batting performance was quite good.

Only fault in the batting performance was Vandort. He's still yet to score in this series. He only has one more innings..or i think he'll end up playing himself out of the side.

Vaas has always been a useful lower-order batsmen, he has a test 100 to his name, so it shows that he can bat.

Of course he shouldnt be moved up the order, because technically the Sri Lankan batsmen are better than him, but he is in the same category as Warne, Kumble, Giles etc. the lower-order batsmen who can at times be very hard to get out

Always felt he was a solid No.8 batsman and sometimes used to compare him to Shaun Pollock with a decent to good average for a No.8 batsman in cricket.
