Vassilis Spanoulis stars as Olympiacos edge past Fenerbahce Ulker 81-74 - Euroleague Recap

Olympiacos, on the verge of losing second consecutive game of the 2011-12 Turkish Airlines Euroleague regular season, erased an 11-point halftime deficit and went on to beat Fenerbahce Ulker 81-74 on October 27 at Peace and Friendship
Stadium in Piraeus, Greece.
Olympiacos have now improved to 1-1 in Group A while Fenerbahce dropped to 0-2 and is the only winless team left in the group.
Vassilis Spanoulis led the way with 22 points on 2 for 5 shooting from three-point range and was an outstanding 8 for 8 from free throw line. He also dished out seven assists. Georgios Printezis was the second major contributor
with 21 points and seven rebounds. Printezis went 5 for 5 from two-point range, 2 for 2 from three-point range and 5 for 6 from free throw line.
Martynas Gecevicius added 13 points on a perfect 8 for 8 shooting from the line and stole the ball twice while Kyle Hines ended with 10 points and three rebounds for Olympiacos.
Thabo Sefolosha led Ulker with a double-double, adding 17 points and grabbing a game-best 12 rebounds.  James Gist chipped in 14 points and pulled down six rebounds while Roko Ukic totalled 13 points and for Fenerbahce.
Olympiacos got off to a superb start and held a 12-5 lead with two minutes to go in the first quarter. However, the hosts responded swiftly and reeled off a 9-0 run for a 14-12 lead going into the second period.
Olympiacos completely went cold in the second quarter as Ulker widened their lead to nine points, 32-23. Olympiacos scored the next three points to cut the lead to five but Emir Preldzic scored a lay-up at the end of the quarter
to make it 37-26 for Ulker.
The Greeks turned the game around in the third frame, blowing open the Fenerbahce defence 27-to trim their 11-point halftime deficit to just one, 54-53. Olympiacos then racked up the first four points of the last quarter to go
ahead by 57-54.
Ulker were not done just yet and forced their way to a 69-67 lead with two minutes remaining. However, Olympiacos answered back with four consecutive points and never looked back again.
