  1. Wonderful. Sounds like they are making some progress. We all need to learn to live in harmony with nature like we once did.

Pollution causes harm to others and we must do everything we can to end it.

  2. great move about pollution, but genetic manipulation, i am not sure about this yet.

it's about time that religion should incorporate environmentalism in its doctrine.

In Islam, it has been taught long ago. Muslims are not allowed to kill animals and plants just for sport or if it is not  a pest. There is even a verse in the muslim holy scripture that says God created man  to be the caretaker of this earth. Unfortunately, many, even among muslims, this is not practice. There is also a verse that says "thou shall not kill, unless for just cause". well, ignoring or destroying the healthy condition of this earth is worst than killing hordes of humankind.

So, be careful in throwing recyclable items, even a candy wrapper if not properly sent to designated area that would not pollute or destroy this earth is tantamount to sin. A little thing turns big in the end.

  3. It's about time! God calls us to be stewards of this planet. It's only sensible that polluting would be counter to this directive. And genetic manipulation is an example of man trying to make himself into a god. Another no brainer.

  4. The last grand proclamation they came out with was "The Ten Commandments of Driving".  My view is the Catholic church is trying desperately to reach out to a new generation with their out of step views and are failing miserably.

  5. This is not a list of new sins.

Again the media has either misinterpreted or purposely blown out of proportion a story involving the Church.

The latest case is the interview a Vatican official gave to the Vatican newspaper on the social impact of sin in a globalized society.

Here are some of the "headlines":

+ “Vatican introduces more ways to sin“

+ “Seven More Sins, Thanks to Vatican“

+ “New sins as bad as the old sins — Vatican official“

+ “Vatican Updates Its Thou-Shalt-Not List“

+ “Recycle or go to h**l, warns Vatican”

This whole outlook assumes that there is a list of sins we can look up, besides the Ten Commandments or the seven deadly sins.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church does not even have a list of sins, although it does have an index of covered subjects.

For the real story, see: Social effects of sin greater than ever, says Vatican official: http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories...

    With love in Christ.
