Former England cricket captain Michael Vaughan has slammed Kevin Pietersen for the way he revealed his omission from the England one-day international and Twenty20 squads.
Pietersen revealed the fact that he had been dropped through his twitter page and this was completely unacceptable according to the former England leader. Pietersen also revealed that he would start playing for Surrey while he was not on England duty.

Should have thought twice
Pietersen should have thought twice about the way he was revealing the news because he is still one of the most charismatic and respected players in English cricket.
Twitter is one of the social networking mediums that many sports have now banned professional players from using. It proves that Pietersen may have let his frustrations get the better of him as he may not have paid attention to strict England rules and regulations.
It would have been much better for the player if he had come out and done a public interview revealing all of the news in a very honest and open way. This would have let people judge his state of mind for themselves and he could have stated his intent to right the wrongs of his recent playing career.
Vaughan said: "What he did on his Twitter account was totally wrong. I think that's something Kevin will regret for a long time. I actually think that England have managed it in a good way. They feel that he needs more cricket and a couple of four-day games rather than playing the one-day series against Pakistan."
A chance
It has been pretty obvious to any cricket fan that Pietersen has been in the worst form of his life over the last year and a half. Rather than feeling frustrated, he should be grateful that the England management have given him a chance to find some form before heading off to Australia.
This will allow him to get valuable playing time and big-run games under his belt. This will give him plenty of confidence and if he can make some big hundreds for Surrey then he will know that he's not lost any part of his talent and ability on the domestic scene.

I just see it as the management of a player who needs to be playing more of the longer format of the game than the one day to try to get him into some kind of form leading into the winter.
