  1. Clean up the bodywork connection on the rear light clusters.

    The electricity gets to the lights through a switch and a wire, but the return to the battery is through the bodywork.  If the connection gets damp or corroded on one side, the route of least resistance is via the rear fog lights and through the other cluster.  It can also make your brake lights flash instead of the indicators.

  2. Check that the correct bulbs are fitted in the fog lights?Ive seen a similar problem on a vecra caused by a double filament bulb being put in the place of a single filament one?Hope this helps

  3. Got to be faulty foglight switch or relay;

    Note to US contributors, all European cars have had rear fog lights (bright red ones so that people don't run into the back of you in the fog) for over twenty years.

  4. Never heard of fog lights on the rear, only 'back-up' lights, which should be controlled by a switch on the transmission. They're, normally, turned on when you're in reverse and off in all other gears.

  5. I could be stating the obvious but are you sure the fog light button below the light switch is not pressed to the on position. If you are new to the vectra you may not have noticed the fog light switch its a square button below the light switch.
