Hi i have a yellow box on my dash board that comes on with like a little star in the middle of it. It has only just started coming on since i put water oil and petrol in the other day. Please can you help as i dont want to do any more damage to the car by driving it. I have a vauxhall astra 1.6 sport.

Had this problem with Astra, about 2002 model.The light would come on on a straight journey  about eight miles and then the car would just cut out.Had a few near misses.In the end could only travel local as the cutting out was always a problem.I had it on diagnostic machine but no good,had parts replaced but no good as the light still came on and then cut out.I had to just get rid of it as I was not prepared for more hassle. I have read many forums of people with the same problem and people going to garages to get this fixed but there are many things it could be and the expense just gets ridiculous.In the end the whole engine seemed to lose power and a slight hill was a major problem.Changed gear oil and topped it up on regular basis but no good as it still lost power.

My X reg Astra (1.6 auto, Envoy, I think) conked out this morning. I got it going again but there is now a light on the dashboard, orange in colour and shaped like a car. It also looks like there's a spanner stuck in the top of it! Can you help. Many thank.

my ecu light come on in my astra mk4 1998 1.8 sport and when it does i get a load of noise from the cat can anyone help
