My 1.4 vauxhall corsa p reg keeps cutting out after about 20 mins of driving. When i try to start it up again it struggles, but i leave it for about 10 to 20 mins it runs fine. Ive called the AA out a few times and they cant find any problems.

Does anyone have any ideas before i take it to a garage??

  1. Does a engine management light come on at all (looks like a little fan thing). if so then the garage can test your car with a computer and tell you what the problem is straight away. it may be that something has come loose or it could be just something simple like the changing of the spark plugs but best get it checked out at the garage.

  2. theres an ignition magnifier that can go faulty, when warm it stops working, the other fault that ive heared of on corsas is the imobilizer cutting the car out,i think its by the gearbox

  3. That's an interesting problem as i would expect your car to start better after it was warmed up and hot compared to starting it from cold.

I would check your alternantor and battery as it may be overcharging.

I would also do a oil change and oil filter and coolant change, flushing your radiator as a blockage may be the problem which gets worse as the car gets hot and pressurises everything.

  4. It sounds like it could be the fuel pump to me.
