Has anyone had a vaginal birth after a c-section? I just found out that I'm pregnant again and I had to have an emergency c-section last time. I really want to try to do it vaginally this time.

Also are second pregnancies anything like the first or do they differ. Last time I was exhausted and this time I'm fine. I definitely felt pregnant last time and this time I feel totally normal..except for a back ache.

  1. I had a friend that had a vbac with no problems.  Some doctors wont do them because it is more work for them - they generally have to have a surgeon on call in case anything goes wrong.  So find a doctor that will try and deliver vaginally.

My second pregnancy was very different from my first and so far my 3rd is different from the other 2.  Good Luck and Congrats!

  2. It's highly possible that you could have a vaginal birth this time depending on the reasons for the first c-section.  Simply tell your doctor you'd like to try that if at all possible.  I had great intentions to do so but my son had other thoughts.  All pregnancies are different, no matter if it's the first or the fifth.  Every one is unique.  My second was nothing at all like my first.

  3. I am currently 28 weeks preggo with # 2, my first pregnancy was an emergency c section. My doctor gave me an option of VBAC and c section. She says with a VBAC there is >1% chance of your scar opening up. But I am going with the c section just because I don't want to go through what I did last time and have to be rushed into the OR. I think you will be fine but I would talk it over with your doctor and see what they recommend
