Vector addition w/pic ?

A+B+C

adding them tip to tail thats the picture i came up with

my question is were does the resultant go

i dont think it will fit across A and C or diagonal because that wouldnt be A+B+C

  1. You are correct:

    Like this, but in 2D:

    A----->B----->C----->

    On paper, 2D:

    Draw the resultant from the tail of A (-) to the

    tip (>) of C. Each vector needs a scaled size

    on paper if your plan includes the measurement

    of each vectors magnitude.

  2. You need to put the tail of B on the tip of A

    The tail of C on the tip of B.

    Your answer would then be the new vector that connects:

    The tail of A to the tip of C.

  3. A+B+C would be the distance from the beginning of A to the end of C.
