does anyone know the differance between a 2.0ltr and a 2.0ltr sri 140 ecotec engine thanks.

  1. Yes and no......

    Most of the Vectra 4 cyl engines are based on the same block.

    The 2.0 ltr is related to the 2.0 ltr sri.

    The 140 is the max BHP rating.

    Basically the SRi engine has been built and tuned to give a higher performance.  

    This will increase fuel consumption and increase wear and tear,

    They may have a different stroke/bore also.

    Certainly the ECU will be set differently.

    Check out a Haynes manual for specific differences.

    If you want performance go for the SRi  if you want economy don;t.

    For comparison have a look at the two current Dti Vectras.

    There are two with the same engine size but different power ratings.
