Vedeneev expecting http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Igor-Denisov-c16694 and Mikhail Kerzhakov to join Anzhi Makhachkala – Football news
Former Zenit St. Petersburg player, Sergey Vedeneev, is expecting Igor Denisov and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mikhail-Kerzhakov-c25724 to join Anzhi Makhachkala after leaving their respective Russian Premier League clubs this summer.
“I think Zenit have spent more money on the transfers during the past two years. They have brought in expensive players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436 and now I am ready to believe that anything can happen. I am confident the management at Zenit will do anything possible to
strengthen the squad. Igor is playing well, but he's not a standout performer. I think Zenit have already bought his replacement in Tymoschuk. Kerzhakov belongs to the category of players who achieve results through their work. I think a transfer can go through
should the player want to progress and develop,” the Russian national was quoted as saying.
Reports in Russian media and a source close to Denisov suggested that the 29-year-old midfielder has agreed on personal terms and condition to join the Makhachkala-based club last week.
However, the press service of Zenit has already stated that the information about the transition of the Russian International midfielder, who scored 29 goals in 340 appearances since starting his career at Petrovsky stadium, is not true.
Media added fuel to the speculations linking Denisov with a move to Dagestan after stating that Anzhi sent a letter to the St. Petersburg management with a proposal to buy Denisov for an amount of 12 million Euros which Zenit refused instantly.
However, negotiations are ongoing despite the fact that the parties are yet to agree on a fee for the player. It has also been reported that Zenit can loan out Denisov with a view to a permanent deal next year.
Kerzhakov, on the other hand, is likely to join Anzhi after expressing a desire to perform at a European club in the near future. The 24-year-old shot stopper will definitely take the opportunity to play in the Europa League with both hands should the move
go through.
If speculations are to be believed, Anzhi will part company with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yevgeny-Pomazan-c37372 to make way for Kerzhakov.
