  1. Just to clarifiy this, vegetarians dont considered eggs as a meat product because it hasnt even been born yet. Only vegans wont eat eggs. If you were a vegan, you wouldnt even go to a fast food joint. Their buns contain dairy and egg products too. There are also mayonnaise without egg products and made from oil.

  2. I think your use of the shortened "veg" is confusing, you could mean "vegetable", "vegetarian", or "vegan"

Vegetable and Vegetarian burgers contain eggs, correct.

    no-one is misleading anyone.

  3. Well... That all depends. Some religions will call it meat, others wont. Just like fish

  4. Are you aware that they have been making eggless mayonaisee too for a long time for people who want to be strict vegetarians ??? Go to a store and look at the shelves .

As for whether fast food joints use them or not.....you can check with them. Lets not accuse them without checking about the type of Mayo used.

  5. Veg burgers do contain mayonnaise...but they are eggless mayonaisse .

Mayonnaise with egg also taste d same...i wonder how does dat happen!!

check it out at any mac donalds outlet

  6. there not vegan thats for sure it depend on if your a vegetarian who eats stuff with eggs and dairy or no dairy but eggs or only dairy and no eggs

vegetarian- eats eggs and dairy no meat

lacto-vegetarian eats dairy no meat no eggs

ovo-vegetarian eats eggs no meat or dairy

vegan eats not meat eggs or dairy or any animal products including honey

  7. If the items are labeled as Vegetarian and contain mayonnaise then they are correct as Vegetarians by definition will consume eggs and dairy products.

If the items are labeled as Vegan then they are misleading and I'd recommend giving feedback to the company.

  8. lol there is veg mayonnaise also available in the market. Dont know what they are made of but tastes the same n doesnt contain egg.

  9. veg. items?

its vege/veggie meat, aka meat for VEGEtarians.

vegetarians eat that stuff. so it makes sense.

  10. There are a couple types of vegetarians. Lacto-Ovo consume dairy and eggs and Vegans do not. So some would still consider that product vegetarian.

I'm transitioning from vegetarian to vegan and on my "vegan" days I don't eat "fake meat" unless its labeled vegan. I don't like it when theres Casien in things either which is a derivitive of milk I guess.

    It's in a lot of vegi/soy cheeses..

I e-mailed Morningstar farms about whether or not there eggs in faux meats were organic considering the fact that a lot of vegetarians are against animal cruelty and they sent me a generic reply stating that they know its a sensitive issue but basically they do use factory farmed chicken eggs.

So yes, they are misleading us sometimes and its good to read the fine print and educate ourselves on what certain unpronouncable ingredients really are.

the best way is to eat "lower on the food chain" and prepare a lot of fresh stuff yourself. I know its not always easy though...

Boca makes a vegan vegi burger and a spicy chikn patti that are both labeled vegan.

I use condiments to spice up the flavor a tad ;) Veganaise is a great substitute if you like mayo on your burger.

    Hope this helps.

  11. Mayo is vegetarian.  It's just not vegan.  You have to read all ingredients.  Companies are not misleading.  They print the ingredients on the package clearly.  It is your job to read them.

  12. Veggie burgers do not contain mayonnaise. There may be some on the bun but it's not in the patty.

Many veggie burgers contain eggs and milk but not mayo.

That would make them lacto-ovo veg and not strict vegetarian.
