  1. Vegan pasta sauce is just pasta sauce that has no animal ingredients.  Some pasta sauces have cheese in them or meat stock or extracts.  Vegans want sauces with just the tomatoes, olive oil, and seasonings.

You can probably find vegan sauces in almost any grocery store.  Amy's, Newman's Own, and Seeds of Change all make pasta sauces that are vegan.  Whole Foods has a line of store-brand pasta sauces, some of which are vegan.

  2. If it's meatless and has no cheese like many regular pasta sauces,...it's already vegan.

  3. some are, but make sure you check the ingredients because they love to sneak parmeasean cheese in

  4. Just check ingredients.  I use red pack tomato sauce that comes in cans.  I contacted the company and they assured me that their natural flavor does not contain any animal products.  I also add a can of petite cut tomatoes and onions into my sauce.

Just make sure your chosen sauce doesn't contain animal flavorings or cheese.  We used to use Francesco Rinaldi, but it contains cheese.

  5. I am a vegetarian and I have noticed that a lot of pasta sauces add rennet. Rennet is derived from the stomach linings of calves. So of course that is a definite turn off for vegetarians and vegans alike.

I mean come on ..I dont eat meat. What makes Prego think I want Rennet in my sauce?  But if you read the labels there are many pasta sauces (like Francesco Rinaldi's Tomato and Basil ) that are vegan. Any supermarket should carry them.

  6. a lot of pasta sauces are vegan. my favorite is Bertolli. just be sure to read the ingredients label

  7. Pasta sauce with no animal products in it. You can buy it at grocery stores and even make your own!
