Okay, So i've been a vegan for a little over a month. I've been taking these vitamins and i noticed that my p**s was like a bright green (EW), so i looked this up online, and apparently it comes from taking in alot of extra B12. I looked on my vitamin box and the vitamins have 8333% the required daily amount!!!!???? Is that healthy? There was percents in the 1000's for most of the stuff they include? Is that okay??

Are McDonalds fries vegan??? how about wendy's or bK? What is your fav. vegan thing to eat out???

What is your favorite vegan snack/candy????

Lol. Just curious!!!!! Thanks alot!!!! : )

  1. If you are eating the right things with lots of veggies and fruits and legumes and nuts, you should not need any vitamins at all.  If you look in the bible in Genesis, you find the original diet for man was vegan and it was full of vitamins if you eat a lot of it raw, as much as possible.  They lived for hundreds of years until meat was introduced into the diet after the flood in chapter 7.  All the fries are vegan as they are all fried in veggie oil but lots of fat and salt.  Not so good to make a regular diet of it.  I don't eat candy or snack so can't help a lot there.

  2. wow. . .that´s not good. are your vitamins even vegan?? some have gelatin, and we should all now what that is. check out www.compassionatecooks.com and click on stalk your pantry, then click on suplements and there you will find the BEST milty v´s ever!! totaly vegan too.

my fave thing to have out is Taco Bells Bean Fresco burritos, their refried beens and other plain beans are vegan.

  3. Fried fast food is vegan as long as meat was not fried in the oil first.

I have to disagree with ramal11 though- An unsupplemented vegan diet was fine in Genesis, but it's dangerous today. Our soil just isn't good enough anymore to provide all the nutrients we need. It's so broken down by the way we farm it that it does not give the plants all the nutrients it used to.

  4. o dear.. u probably got vitamins that you only take once a week/month? gosh dont take those every day..

the only place i eat out is at subway. (veggie delite, no cheese, onion sauce) hmm i dont think mcd's fries are vegan but idk for sure.

my favorite vegan snack is dark chocolate covered peanuts or roasted, salted soybeans

  5. If you live in the United States the fries at McDonald's contain beef tallow, so no they are not vegan.

My favorite vegan snack is fresh fruit, but I am pretty hard core :)  I also like sour patch kids and swedish fish.  On special occasions I like to eat good quality dark chocolate.  I also like an occasional bag of chips that I can have all to myself.

I don't take any vitamins except for iron and I only take that for a week out of the month.  I won't go into that though.

Silk soy milk has most of nutrients I need.  I have 2 servings of fortified breakfast cereal every day...once in the morning and once at night.  The soy milk and the cereal together have all the nutrients of vitamins and I don't have to worry about the gelatin that so many pills use as a coating.

I used to eat wendy's fries, but I really would only do it now if I were in a pinch.  I realize that a lot of people, especially younger people like to eat fast food.  I am kind of getting out of that because I prefer that very few people if any handle my food.  I like to cook for myself and my family because I know what my hygiene is like and that means I don't have to worry about contamination.

    I hope that helped.

  6. Hello....

All I can say about the vitamins is: been there, done that! I used to take a multi vitamin that made my urine NEON yellow. It was quite disturbing. After I cut back on the pills, things went back to normal. Those vitamins also made me extremely hyper. My co workers thought I had suddenly come down with a case of adult ADHD or something. Take half of the recommended dose and if your waste is still a funky color, cut that down even more. Yes it's normal, but it's nothing that cannot be remedied.

I don't eat a lot of fast food, so I'm not certain about the fries. I believe they are vegan friendly.

If anything, I eat a veggie delight at Subway.

My fave vegan snack would have to be Soy Delicious soy ice cream. YUM!

  7. take them less frequently

mcdonalds fries had beef in them last time i checked, wendys are, but they might be fried in the same oil as the chicken nuggets, so youve got to ask

i like to eat at moes, at the one near me you can get tofu instead of beef

    my favorite candy is twizzlersssss.

  8. I have no idea why you're passing chartreuse urine. I've taken vitamin B12 in those high doses and never had a problem. It's probably something else that you are eating. B12 is also water-soluble, so your chances of overdosing are very low. :-)

As for French fries, the vast majority are vegan in and of themselves, but I'm reasonably sure that most restaurants do not use dedicated deep fryers. In short, the fries were probably in the same boiling oil as the nuggets, fish sandwiches, and chicken sandwiches. If this bothers you, I'd avoid them. If not, enjoy.

I don't actively look for vegan foods, but I often choose them when I'm eating Indian or Chinese. I adore the spicy tofu dishes at Chinese places and curries make me SO happy at Thai and Indian joints.

  9. Excess B vitamins will turn your pee a bright yellow color (happens to me), but it's nothing to be terribly concerned about.  Your body needs very little B12, but it actually can store it for a few years.  Vitamin A can be toxic in excess amounts, as can too much iron (hemachromatosis).  Don't rely on your multivitamin to make sure you get the nutrients you need, but use it as a just-in-case, which is what I do.  It's why they're called supplements.

In the U.S., the fries at McDeathburger are not vegan or even vegetarian, as they have the beef tallow coating.  I have heard that the fries at Murder King have a chicken ingredient in them, but I'm not sure.  I think the fries at Wendisease are vegan, though.

My favorite fast-food item is the black bean tacos at Chipotle (the pinto beans are not vegetarian).  However, where I live, I have lots of choices, including a great falafel place that serves just falafel and fries, with a top-your-own bar.  There are also lots of Asian places where I can get a good stir-fry.

My favorite vegan candy is probably the Sweet & Sara S'mores.  Those are just pillows of ecstacy.  I also love So Delicious Purely Decadent "ice creams" and Lesser Evil Choco and Peanut Butter popcorn (wish they had other vegan varieties, pout).

  10. Hello nickelback,

Some people do experience differences in their....pee colour when they take supplements. It's quite normal.  I'm sure your supplement is fine, but if you are concerned, rather than taking a daily dose, maybe try once a week? Once a week may work better for you. Don't worry.

Are McDonald's fries vegan? In the UK, I think so...but nonetheless I wouldn't eat them. Fave vegan candy has GOT to be Green & Blacks Organic 70% Cocoa Dark Chocolate. It really is heavenly! My fave vegan snack has just got to be fruit or nuts, especially almonds.

  11. umm over dosin in any vitamin is dangerous, but your body doesnt fully absorb those pills, where as if you eat the food, you absorb them quickly, i think your safe on eatin the fries from any where, vegan is where you dont eat any animal products right? they fry the fries in veg oil your safe!
