1. Wow, that's a lot of questions...

    Where did I learn?

Well, I have been vegetarian since the 80s, so I mostly knew what I needed to know by the time I decided to go vegan. If you're coming to it without much knowledge, I recommend "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Vegan Living." It sounds kind of dumb, but it covers a LOT of information and is great for beginners.

    What do I do everyday?

Same as everyone else. I get up, go to work, hang out with friends, etc... I just do it all without animal foods, fabrics and ingredients. Most of the time, though, I'm not really thinking about it specifically.

    Web sites?

I'm sure there are, but like I said, I was vegetarian long before the internet existed, so other than here and a vegan social forum I belong to, I don't rely much on websites for information.

    Where do I shop?

I still do 95% of my shopping at the regular old grocery store. I'm lucky that mine has a nice natural foods section and I can get almost everything I need there. I fill in some gaps from Whole Foods, and my city does have a tiny little vegan grocery. It's about the size of my kitchen and I really only go there for the occasional snack (like vegan marshmallows.)

    What foods do I eat?

Vegans eat fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices, oils and everything made from them. I try to eat a balanced diet, meaning a variety of foods from all of those groups.

    Did I feel better?

Pretty much the same, actually. I didn't feel poorly as a vegetarian, though, so there wasn't much room for improvement.

    Did my doctor see results?

I didn't have any conditions that were being monitored by my doctor. I pretty much only go once a year for my girlie exam because I'm healthy.

    Vegan recipe sites?

Well, the only vegan site I visit regularly is http://www.theppk.com but the recipe database isn't fully functional right now. I go there for the forums and have met lots of local vegans that way. I'm sure if you google "vegan recipes" you'll find lots.

    YouTube videos?

Not a clue, it's not really my thing

    What do I drink?

Water, juice, plant milks, the occasional soda, mostly the same things that other people drink

    Vegan frozen foods?

Just like omnivore frozen foods, some are good and some aren't. I don't use a lot of frozen foods, but I've tried a couple of Amy's vegan entrees when I haven't had time to cook. They're OK, but not really a substitute for cooking with fresh whole foods.

    Ingredients to avoid/look for:

Hate to recommend it, but "Skinny B***h" has a good list of animal ingredients. I'm sure there are similar lists online, too. And there's actually a book called "Animal Ingredients A-Z" that you can buy.

    Raw or cooked?

I'm not a raw vegan, so I eat cooked and raw food (regular stuff like fruit and salad.)

The only thing I'd add is that a couple of good cookbooks are a must. "Veganomicon" by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Terry Hope Romero is great, especially if you're not a real experienced cook. They have recipes, but also a lot of tips on stocking a vegan pantry, etc... Isa's first book "Vegan with a Vengeance" is great too, as are any of Sarah Kramer's books.

  2. This is where I got most of my information:

    http://www.veganoutreach.org/whyvegan/

My lifestyle itself hasn't changed drasticily, I just have to check the ingrediants in stuff a lot more.

    Yes, see the above website.

There are vegan stores, there is one where I live, Harris Teeter has an awesome vegan/vegetarian section.

    Ummm..... rice, vegtables, tofu, fruits....

    I do feel better.

Amies Kitchen is AWESOME, not all of her stuff is vegan, but some of it is...

I eat both raw and cooked food.

  3. Wow, this is a big one.

Where did you learn everything to become a Vegan?

Honestly, you can learn as you go. Just be sure to read labels. Remember natural flavor can include meat. Gelatin is not vegan or vegetarian. Make sure to eat a variety of healthy foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and beans.

What do you do everyday in your Vegan Lifestyle?

Well, same as I did before - I go to work.

Is there any web sites that tells everything how to become a

    Vegan or what Vegans eat?

    vegweb.org

Do you shop at regular stores or is there Vegan Stores?

I do most of my shopping at a regular grocery store. There is a natural foods store in my city, and I go there sometimes for things like vegan chocolate bars. There is no vegan store; the natural foods store carries vegetarian items and even some meat.

    What foods do you eat?

Wow, too much to say here. I don't eat cheesy things for the time being. Maybe when I am over cheese as much as I am over meat, I will try soy cheese. I eat things like burritos, spaghetti, chili, sandwiches rice and beans...

When you became a Vegan did you feel much better?

Not yet, I think I am still getting used to it.

After you became a Vegan did your Doctor see results?

Haven't been to a doctor yet, it's only been a few weeks.

Any good Vegan Recipes sites or any of your favorites?

    vegcooking.org

Any Videos on You Tube that you know about that explain stuff or tells what to do?

Meet Your Meat is pretty good.

What do you Drink as a Vegan?

Mostly water. Sometimes coffe and tea.

The Vegan Frozen food at stores do they taste good?

Most Amy's brand foods are delicious. I love the shepherd's pie and burritos.

Is there any sites to tell me what ingredients to avoid or what

    Ingredients to look for?

    http://www.hedweb.com/campaig/ingred.htm

Do you mostly just eat Raw or you eat cook food?

    I usually cook.

  4. go to Veg cooking. org. Peta has a lot of information that can help you.

  5. Ok here goes...

Where did you learn everything to become a Vegan?

    - Before I became vegan I spent about a week researching basic nutrition using the mighty power of google search. I already knew alot about sports nutrition as a vegetarian athlete and all I did was supplement this knowledge a little with regards to B12, calcium etc. Once I had that basic knowledge I became vegan. I started with removing animal products from my diet then moved to my clothes, toiletries, cleaning products etc. I am still constantly learning about nutrition, animal exploitation, ingredients and my own personal ethics.

Not long ago I discovered a book called "vegan freak" which is truly awesome and I wish I had read it when I first became vegan as it had some really useful tips!

What do you do everyday in your Vegan Lifestyle?

I live my life as compassionately as possible :) I try not to consume, wear, use, or take part in anything that involves harming/exploiting animals. Unfortunately, due to the world we live in being based on the systematic exploitation of animals, it is impossible to be a "perfect" vegan. But I try my best, and that's all you can really do.

Is there any web sites that tells everything how to become a Vegan or what Vegans eat?

    Sure...

    http://www.vegsoc.org/info/vegan-nutriti...

    http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/

    http://veganfaq.blogspot.com/

    http://theppk.com/

... to name just a few

Do you shop at regular stores or is there Vegan Stores?

We have only one "vegan" store in New Zealand and it's on a different island and opposite end of the country so I just shop at regular stores and the local farmers market.

    What foods do you eat?

Far too many to list :)

Today: Muesli and toast for breakfast, falafel and salad roll for lunch and a mushroom quinoa risotto for dinner.

When you became a Vegan did you feel much better?

Yes. Not only physically but I also felt better because I knew I was finally living in a way that was consistent with my ethics.

After you became a Vegan did your Doctor see results?

My doctor doesn't really care about my diet but I do get regular blood checks (just to make sure my diet is ok and to prove to any annoying omnis that I am perfectly healthy thank you very much!) and they have all come back fantastic (and much better than when I was a vegetarian).

Any good Vegan Recipes sites or any of your favourites?

    http://theppk.com/

Any Videos on You Tube that you know about that explain stuff or tells what to do?

Haven't looked for recipes etc but check out "Steven the Vegan"... hes hilarious!!!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMpHF2a-I...

What do you Drink as a Vegan?

I'm assuming you mean alcohol :)

Whiskey as well as vegan cider and red wine (can't stand beer).

The Vegan Frozen food at stores do they taste good?

Don't know, have never found any and probably wouldn't buy them if I did. I looove to cook too much and pre-made meals are usually so expensive!

Is there any sites to tell me what ingredients to avoid or what Ingredients to look for?

A-Z list of animal ingredients (including chemical names):

    http://www.happycow.net/health-animal-in...

    List including e-numbers:

    http://www.vegansociety.com/html/food/cr...

The amount of different animal ingredients found in products is staggering and I am in awe of anyone why has them all memorised! This link provides a handy-dandy list of animal ingredients (including chemical names and e numbers) that you can store on your ipod or other mp3 player.

    http://thirty5.org/ipod/

Do you mostly just eat Raw or you eat cook food?

I eat mostly cooked food (but I don't overcook my veggies). I always intend on including more raw foods in my diet; however, I live in a very cold city and there is something very comforting about a hot meal!

Nothing else I can think of other than well done for wanting to be a vegan and best of luck!! Just remember that veganism is about giving a d**n, not being perfect :)

  6. VEGAN HERE TO HELP.

Where did you learn everything to become a Vegan?

Didn't need much learning to become vegan, just did it. Bought a couple of vegan cook books and went for it.

What do you do everyday in your Vegan Lifestyle?

Much the same as before. There are alternative to everything nowadays. Food, drink, clothing, cosmetics, entertainment ll can be done without exploiting animals.

Is there any web sites that tells everything how to become a Vegan or what Vegans eat?

vegconnect.com seems to b a popular one, by why not just use this site. You could even just ask me, email to my hotmail account is allowed though my yahoo profile.

Do you shop at regular stores or is there Vegan Stores?

As far as supermarkets go, I find Sainsbury's to be the most vegan friendly.

    What foods do you eat?

I eat a lot of cassaroles with lentills and beans. I have potatoes in alomost all my dishes. Don't just eat the same as everybody else in your household, minus the meat. That's a good way to destroy your body

When you became a Vegan did you feel much better?

100% better. That is the number one difference about before and after becoming vegan. I feel great and I don't just mean phyisically. I feel so much better for knowing that I do not contribute to suffering and death. I am a true animal lover, unlike most people who condiser themselves to be so. If there is one type of person I hate, it is a fake and I feel brilliant knowing that I am not one of them.

After you became a Vegan did your Doctor see results?

Haven't been to the doctors for years.

Any good Vegan Recipes sites or any of your favorites?

Somebody posted a snack idea up here which I trie and really enjoyed. It is called "ants on a log" which is celery, filled with peanut butter and topped with raisens. Sound gross, but it's awesome.

Any Videos on You Tube that you know about that explain stuff or tells what to do?

Look for a cookery show called "Everyday dish".

What do you Drink as a Vegan?

Well I watch what beers I drink as many of the "good" brands contain finnings and isinglass. Mainly I drink lemonade and tea with soy milk.

The Vegan Frozen food at stores do they taste good?

Some are good some are aweful, same as regular frozen food. You'll just have to ty some and see. Though I try to avoid eating ready meals as you never know what they contain or how the ingredients are produced, even if they say vegan on the packet. Plus It's hard to memorise so many ingredients that most eopl don't even know, suchas foo colourings (E536, E764 and so forth). Not all, but many are made from squashed bugs and the like.

Is there any sites to tell me what ingredients to avoid or what Ingredients to look for?

    http://www.veganwolf.com/animal_ingredie...

    Very good source.

Do you mostly just eat Raw or you eat cook food?

No, I don't eat much raw food at all, other than when I am just snacking.

Hope I helped, feel free to contact me.

    Good luck. ;)
