I have heard that some whole foods markets carry vegan birthday cakes...but I am not sure if every whole foods markets carries cakes. My birthday is coming up, and I want a vegan cake but the nearest whole foods is about a half hour away and I don't want to drive out there for nothing. If they don't carry vegan birthday cakes, does anyone know a good online source for getting a cake delivered to my home?

  1. Call the specific whole foods and just ask them.

  2. Whole Foods looks like a good bet!

    This is on their website:

    Otherwise,

I'm guessing you don't live anywhere near Washington DC.

This place can send vegan brownies, etc, but does not ship cakes. Sorry.

  3. Whole Foods does carry some vegan cakes, but be cautious their prices are ridiculously expensive! It's better you make your own cake at home!

  4. I've tried chocolate and vanilla vegan cakes from Whole Foods and didn't like them. (I'm picky though, so maybe you would like them.) It's probably easiest to call the store near you and ask whether they carry any vegan cakes.

You can also order vegan cakes at BuyKind.com:

    http://buykind.com/vegancakes.html

I've ordered some desserts from that site and they were really good!

  5. I'm pretty sure you can order a vegan birthday cake there at Whole Foods, because I know they do make cakes for special events.

  6. I have been able to find a bakery that could make a vegan cake by calling around.  If you can't find one, here's a great recipe for a chocolate cake.  If you want it professionally decorated than you can find a cake decorator to come to your home.  I did that for my daughters birthday.  The decorator worked at a grocery store and brought one of their cake boxes.  She did a really awesome Sponge Bob cake with air brushes and a vegan whipped topping.  Everyone thought it was store bought until I told them it was vegan (after they ate it).  They were impressed.

    Happy Birthday!

  7. Hello fellow Vegan. Make it yourself or have someone make it for you. Its so much fun. I'd make you one if I could. Go to vegweb.com for some great idea's. What town do you live in?

  8. Not very many people carry them.  The whole foods near me doesnt! :(

My BF bought me one for my birthday and it cost him 50 bucks and it was from a specialty shop down town (not sure where you live).

    Cant you bake one yourself?

I know it sucks to do but sometimes you have to give yourself what you want.

And I dont know any places that deliver.  I am afraid I am no help really!

I am posting a link of recipes if you want to try baking one.

  9. Why don't you just call the local whole foods and ask? Or, better yet, make ityourself. I'm sure it will taste better, AND be cheaper. Here's a recipe...

  11. call them and ask because I've heard they make them but I believe they are only by special order but that may vary by store and location.  Also call or email any other local bakeries and ask if they can make them.  I wanted a vegan one for my birthday to and I found a few local places that will actually make them.

Most places will probably be special order only so make sure u call ahead of time.

  12. Has it not occurred to you to call them and ask if they carry cakes?

  13. I am not sure about Whole Foods but calling would be best because it is probably based on population preferences when it comes to specialty items.

However, here are some potentially helpful links of places that deliver vegan birthday cakes.

    http://www.sweetiecakesshop.com/main.sc

http://vegetarian.about.com/od/veganwedd... one says wedding cakes but if you locate a place, I imagine they can also make birthday cakes on request)

I hope this helps but it would probably be easier for you to search by your location. Good luck!
